Michael E. Turner
Michael Turner was born in Shelby,
North Carolina on June 12, 1971. He has practiced law in
Birmingham since graduating law school in 1996. Michael earned the Eagle Scout award from the Boy Scouts of America in 1989.
Michael’s practice encompasses a
wide variety of subject areas, with a significant portion of his
practice involving the defense of employers in employment-related
litigation in both federal and state courts and before
administrative agencies. Michael's employment law practice
includes advising clients on employment-related issues before they
have reached litigation, including the drafting of written
employment policies and procedures.
Michael also has considerable
experience in the defense of workers' compensation claims.
Michael's litigation practice also includes representing clients
in business-related disputes, such as breach of contract and
collection cases, and defending fraud-based claims, toxic torts
(including asbestos), and other personal-injury claims.
Michael has handled cases in all of
Alabama's federal courts and in state courts throughout the state,
as well as appeals to Alabama's appellate courts, the Eleventh
Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
Michael is a member of the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association and the Defense Research Institute. He is also a member of the Birmingham and American Bar
Associations. |
