February 16, 2010: Donald J. Stewart will be featured in the Super Lawyers, Corporate Counsel Edition in July in the area of Bankruptcy & Creditor/Debtor Rights.

February 11, 2010: David S. Dunkle, a partner in our firm who practices in the areas of tax and employee benefits, will speak at the Pensions & Investments Defined Contribution Conference held at the Fairmont Turnberry Isle Resort in Miami, FL on March 7-9, 2010.

Mr. Dunkle will address the Plan Sponsor Round Table for defined contribution plans that are under $1 billion in assets. Topics will include self-directed investment and brokerage accounts, the use of plan annuity options, qualified directed investment accounts, plan litigation, and Washington's proposed legislation. Sponsors of the Conference include Russell Investments, Prudential, Fidelity Investments, and Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

February 4, 2010: C. Fred Daniels spoke to the Estate Planning Council of Birmingham. The seminar was entitled: "Now You See It, Now You Don't--Practical Magic Using Grantor Trusts".

January 14, 2010 : Cabaniss Johnston is listed in the 2010 edition of Best's Recommended Insurance Attorneys.

January 12, 2010: Sandy G. Robinson was elected to serve as chairman for the Federal Practice Committee of the Mobile Bar Association.

November 12, 2009: Cabaniss Johnston was chosen as a 2010 "Go To" Law Firm in an annual survey of Fortune 500 general counsel. They are listed in Corporate Counsel Magazine’s In House Law Departments at the Top 500 Companies.

November, 2009: K. W. Michael Chambers published the article A Preliminary Hearing is Not Enough: Tips for a Well-Managed Arbitration for the November issue of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Journal, the lead publication for the American Arbitration Association.

November 2-3, 2009: G. Thomas Sullivan will conduct a seminar entitled Alternative Dispute Resolution and the Most Effective Use of Legal Services for the American College of Healthcare Executives in San Antonio, Texas. He will conduct the same seminar again next year in St. Petersburg, Florida and Seattle, Washington. The seminar will focus on alternative dispute resolution and how the healthcare executive can be a more efficient utilizer of legal services.

September 9, 2009: G. Thomas Sullivan has been selected as a member of the faculty of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He was also appointed as a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Task Force, the six person governing body for the American Health Lawyers Association Alternative Dispute Resolution Service.
