Phillip B. Walker
Philip B. Walker is a partner with the law firm of Cabaniss, Johnston, Gardner, Dumas & O'Neal LLP in Birmingham, Alabama. Mr. Walker began his legal career with the firm upon graduating from law school in 1999. Mr. Walker's broad-based practice emphasizes business planning, business litigation, and federal and state tax litigation for businesses and individuals. Mr. Walker received his undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of Kentucky (BS, with high distinction, 1992), his law degree from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University (Cum Laude, 1999), and his Masters of Business Administration from the School of Business at Samford University (1999). While at Cumberland School of Law, Mr. Walker was a member of the Cumberland Law Review. Mr. Walker was elected to Curia Honoris following his graduation from Cumberland. Mr. Walker is an active member of the Birmingham Bar Association, the Alabama State Bar and the American Bar Associations. In addition, Mr. Walker is also a member of the Birmingham Tax Forum. Mr. Walker is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive) in Tennessee and Alabama, and he is an active member of the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants. Before attending law school, Mr. Walker worked as an auditor with a national CPA firm and as a practice manager with a national medical management firm.
Although Mr. Walker has a wide variety of business, corporate and tax experience, he concentrates his practice in the following areas:
